HIDDEN VALLEY HOMESTEAD

THINGS TO DO

Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats and the occasional Deer can be sighted early morning or at dusk, drinking and feeding on the banks of the Creek that borders Hidden Valley. You may even sight the resident Echidna scuffling around the top paddock where the family of Kookaburras live. Abundant birdlife can be enjoyed with parrots calling in daily for some treats!

Saturday Nights

  • Saturday evenings are special at Hidden Valley as you enjoy a chat around the camp fire, viewing the beautiful sky filled with stars- many a falling  star can be seen.... just for you to make a wish upon! Hot and cold snacks are available at the campfire with complimentary fresh pop corn and marshmallows for the children!
For the Children
  • Our younger visitors love exploring the creek and bushland areas where imaginations run wild! Children can safely spend hours exploring, playing with Elsie the dog, gathering firewood for the camp fire and generally have a wonderful time in the pristine environment of Hidden Valley.
  • Bikes and Trikes are available plus loads of toys and games in the games room where many happy hours can be spent. The Ping Pong table is fun as well as the Arts & Crafts area where many works of art are created to take home.
  • The Special Arts & Crafts hour (by arrangement) is a special time for both Mum & Dad and the Children alike. This is the time Parents can have a break, relaxing in the Lounge area or by the Pool or even under a tree reading their favourite book, while the children are happily learning the art of Paper Making, Paper Mache, Card making or painting a picture to take home and show friends. (Additional Cost)

Tree House

  • Another great place to exercise the imagination and legs!
  • Suitable for the older child or with adult supervision the youngsters...great fun and views of the farm.

Secret 'Kids Klub House'

  • Similar to the Tree House in concept though lower down on the ground for the younger children.
  • A wonderful place to hold ‘secret meetings’ – children only – no adults allowed!

Fairy Garden:

  • Located under the grove of mandarin trees close to the water hole down the back in the children’s play area.
  • Fairies can be sighted in the daytime, however as they are nocturnal creatures they freeze during daylight hours. At night they come alive, dancing under the trees and swimming in the water hole! Letters can be left by the children and more often than not a tiny fairy letter is left in its place!

The Farm

  • Kids can get amongst the baby lambs (which are now BIG TAME Sheep!) and just love to be fed ‘pony nuts’ each afternoon - hence their enormous size!
  • Feed the chooks and Poddy Calves
  • Cuddle the piglet who wanders the property
  • View the three ‘Billy Goats Gruff'
  • Run with Elsie the dog. Elsie is a special favourite of all our visiting children who build a very special bond with her in their visit.
  • There is so much to do with new animals arriving on a regular basis.
  • Hidden Valley has the reputation of taking on and rearing any animal who has been abandoned by its Mother or who has lost its Mother due to other circumstances, hence there is nearly always someone new on the farm to meet & feed.

Swimming Pool

  • Great for kids and adults alike (October to March depending on weather)
  • Safe & Secure ensuring your children’s safety

Enjoy a BBQ

  • Relax amongst the perfumed purple & white flowering vines while having a drink and a yarn

  • Select a book from the Library - there's something for everyone - non fiction, fiction plus something for the children.
  • Play a Board Game or a Card Game - your choice - loads to choose from!
  • Watch Austar pay TV (available in the Bunk house) or a DVD (in the Lounge Area) of your choice

Arts & Crafts Hour

  • Especially for the children, craft activities suitable for a variety of ages are held at the back of the Wool Shed, under the guidance of Hidden Valley staff. Children take their masterpiece home with them to show off to friend and family. Gives Mum and Dad a quiet moment to catch up and relax by themselves over a drink and snack. A small additional cost is made for the Arts and Crafts Hour!
